A four year long self-funded project to map the trade and travel networks of the world in the 19th century. It is available as a digital download here.
This handcrafted map shows the trade and travel routes of the mid 1800’s. It’s a form of map-book, or a book-map. The making of this map took 4 years of detailed work. With this map you can follow the path of explorers and trace the journey of caravans and sailors. Much of the information in the map comes from contemporary travelers, and I have put much effort into bringing to live their most interesting observations. You can see the full library that served as a basis for the map here: Bookshelf
